Stand-alone solar container
Azimut 360 / The Gambia / 2020

An original idea developed for Azimut360. The goal of the project was to achieve a mobile and renewable solution that would allow to reinforce energy needs of diagnostic laboratories for Probitas Foundation. The container serves as the structure to hang the solar panels and contains the inverters and batteries that ensure energy supply for the most remote places. All materials are transported inside the container overseas to be set up locally. It can be disassembled to be transported to different locations and adapt to shifting energy requirements in off-grid rural areas.
Currently, a process of standardization and improvement of the container is being realised to propose a replicable solution for zones lacking grid service with a European Union Horizon 2020 grant for the Research and Innovation program (Innowwide)
