Energy Communities
Azimut 360 / Spain / 2021
Project Manager
On April 2019, a new decree on renewable
energies in Spain opened the door to rethinking solar installations and
self-consumption. Working with two neighbour’s communities in two different
buildings, two photovoltaic installations, Camelies
83 (PV 6kW) and La Borda (PV 8kW)
have been designed, installed and legalized as the first collective
self-consumption communities in Spain. The solar panels installed on the roof
supply the common load (e.g. elevator, staircase lighting) and the excess
energy is distributed to the neighbours to reduce their electric bill. The
project combines engineering with community management. These pilot projects
will serve as example to be replicated with the development of an implementation
tool and personnel training for which I obtained a grant for Azimut360 in Impulsem
El Que Fas call.
