Júlia Nueno Guitart is researcher and engineer. She is a Forensic Architecture PhD fellow at Centre for Resarch Architecture at Goldsmiths (UK). Her doctoral research project Digital Autonomia explores forms of data commons that can be used to reinstate agency in algorithmically determined environments. Previously, she was the visual lead at Airwars, where she developed open-source tools for identifying civilian harm, and project manager at Azimut360, where she designed and installed micro-grids and decentralised photovoltaic systems. She holds a master’s degree with distinction from the Centre of Research Architecture at Goldsmiths and BEng Hons. in Energy Engineering from Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya

She is a Forensic Architecture PhD fellow (2023-2026), has received a Critical Thinking and Visual Arts grant from Generalitat (2022), a Harvard Mellon Urban Fund Initiative grant (2021), and the Latin America Green Award (2018), as well as the second prize for Barcelona’s Super-Illes Urban Design contest (2021).

She has exhibited her work at Model Architecture Festival, in Centre d’Arts Santa Monica (Barcelona), and St. James Hatcham Gallery (London).
